Growing up in Brazil, Daniel always dreamed of becoming a filmmaker.

When he turned 17, he was crazy enough to apply for a scholarship to study Animation in the US, and even crazier to move there once he got accepted. His mother tried — unsuccessfully — to bribe him out of that plan.

He began his career as a 3D generalist, growing particularly interested in lighting, particle effects and 2D motion design. He then embarked on a 4-year Master’s program out in sunny California to study Film Directing, and was fortunate enough to work with some really talented folks on some really special projects along the way.

He continues to pursue his passion for evocative visuals and compelling narratives, always looking to meet talented collaborators and projects that push him creatively.

He currently live in Los Angeles, where he continues to freelance as a motion designer while developing his first feature film, “The Weight of Land”. A neo-western about a feud between two families stuck in a land dispute, the project has received support from SFFILM, Film Independent, the Westridge Foundation, and NALIP.
