Originally from Brazil, Daniel Drummond is an award-winning writer, director and animator focused on telling stories of social immediacy through compelling, exciting narratives.

He started out as an animator, winning a Student Academy Award in 2015 for his debut film, “Chiaroscuro,” qualifying for the 88th Oscars. The film went on to screen in international festivals such as Annecy and Anima Mundi.

With a burning desire to tell stories that spoke to difficult social and political themes, he transitioned to live-action and embraced a raw, verité style. His live-action debut, “A Foreman,” earned him a second nomination at the Student Academy Awards and played numerous festivals, winning a Special Jury Mention at the historic Guadalajara International Film Festival, and the Panavision Future Filmmaker Award.

In 2018, Daniel’s screenplay for “Salvage” was selected for the prestigious Short Film Station at the 68th Berlinale.

He currently lives in Los Angeles, where he is developing his first feature, “The Weight of Land”. A neo-western about a feud between two families stuck in a land dispute, the project has received support from SFFILM, Film Independent, the Westridge Foundation, and NALIP.

He is repped by MGMT Entertainment.
